As a web designer, working with a local business and help them establish a strong online presence is always exciting. Recently, I was approached by the owner of the Painting with a Twist location on Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to design a landing page for their Splatter Room, new addition where people can come and unleash their creative side by making a mess and having fun. I worked closely with the owner to understand their vision and goals for the website. They wanted to create a website to attract customers and showcase their unique experience.
The project started as a simple landing page – the owner just wanted a way to introduce the business and provide basic information about their services. I worked closely with the owner to understand their vision and goals for the website and quickly created a visually appealing and informative design.
As the design process unfolded, I realized the business lacked a solid visual identity. So I presented the idea of designing a logo that would better capture the essence of the business, and the owner was immediately on board. After several revisions, we settled on a design incorporating the original Painting with a Twist Colors with playful typography. In addition, the new logo provided a starting point for the website’s visual design.
With the logo in place, we began to expand the project scope. I suggested adding a photo gallery to the website, allowing potential customers to understand better the experience they could expect at the splatter room. The owner loved the idea and provided me with photos to use.
We eventually added a booking form to the website as the project evolved. This was a critical feature, as it allowed customers to easily schedule their visits to the splatter room without picking up the phone or sending an email. The booking form was designed to be simple and user-friendly, with clear instructions and an intuitive interface.
